Extending Success in the Public Sector: Securing FedRAMP Accreditation in Partnership with Palantir

Announcing a New Strategic Partnership with Palantir

To accelerate and expand our ability to serve the entire public sector, we are excited to announce a strategic partnership with Palantir and their FedStart program for Hyperscience to become FedRAMP High authorized by the end of 2024. Palantir FedStart will enable Hyperscience to deliver The Hypercell Platform within Palantir’s secure and accredited environment, empowering every U.S. government agency to transform their manual, siloed processes into a strategic advantage. Not only does the partnership significantly accelerate our time-to-market in serving the public sector by eliminating the need to pursue accreditation on our own, it instills confidence that Hyperscience adheres to the public sector’s high security standards for cloud products and services.

Track Record of Success 

Hyperscience has established a track of success in serving the public sector with deployments across a growing number of federal and state agencies, including: 

  • US Department of Veterans Affairs – The VA has embraced Hyperscience to automate significant parts of their claims process, and in doing so are improving the speed and accuracy at which veterans get support for benefits, healthcare, and disability. In the last year, the VA has successfully expedited the processing of benefits claims for 1 million service members, as part of the PACT Act, which provides expanded access to benefits and health services for veterans whose exposure to burn pits and other chemicals resulted in medical conditions not previously covered by the VA. Hyperscience provides the automation software platform, in partnership with IBM consulting, to modernize and accelerate the delivery of these critical benefits and payments. The project has been hailed by President Biden as a significant success in how the agency has embraced technology to serve veterans.
  • Internal Revenue Service (IRS) – Hyperscience is playing a crucial role in transforming the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) document digitization process. At the IRS, where accuracy and efficiency are paramount in handling federal forms, the advanced automation features of Hyperscience are being leveraged to streamline and modernize IRS operations. By automating the extraction of critical data from a variety of document types, including tax returns, financial statements, and other essential paperwork, Hyperscience has eliminated legacy processes that required manual data entry. This has not only reduced the IRS’s risk of errors that can occur during manual transcription but has enhanced overall employee productivity.
  • Social Security Administration (SSA) – The Social Security Administration (SSA) has integrated Hyperscience into its operations to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of disability identification processes. Hyperscience plays a critical role in identifying duplicate or nearly identical documents submitted for disability claims and applications. By leveraging our advanced algorithms, Hyperscience efficiently scans and compares documents to detect redundancies, ensuring that SSA resources are only focused on processing unique and valid submissions. The implementation of Hyperscience not only improves data accuracy but also accelerates the processing of disability benefits for applicants. By reducing the time spent on manual document review and data entry, Hyperscience enables SSA staff to expedite the verification of information and speed up benefit approvals. This efficiency gain is crucial in enhancing the overall service delivery to applicants, ensuring timely support for individuals in need of disability benefits.
  • California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) – Hyperscience has been implemented by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) to streamline the management of their extensive paper records repository. Because the CDCR handles a large volume of paper documents, including inmate records, administrative paperwork, and operational reports, they leaned on Hyperscience for help in classifying and indexing these high-volume paper records. One of the key benefits Hyperscience has delivered to the CDCR is our full-page transcription capability, which enables the conversion of entire paper documents into an easily searchable digital format. This has allowed CDCR employees to access and retrieve information quickly and efficiently to facilitate informed decision making. By making these records searchable, Hyperscience is enhancing the accessibility and usability of critical information stored within the CDCR’s archives.

Preparing for FedRAMP High: Upcoming Milestones

Over the next several months, Hyperscience will be focused on addressing 3 key milestones on our path to FedRAMP accreditation that will further enhance our capabilities and compliance in serving the public sector. These milestones will be achieved in the phases outlined below, allowing us to become FedRAMP High authorized before the end of 2024. 

  • Technical Integration (June-July) – Hyperscience will deploy and test our Hypercell Platform in the FedStart staging environment. By July’s end, we expect to have hardened the environment with relevant security controls in areas such as authentication vulnerability assessments and FIPS-compliant cryptography. This phase will also establish alerting mechanisms to facilitate incident response activities.
  • FedRAMP Accreditation Prep (July-August) – Hyperscience will prepare a compliance package for 3PAO audit that includes the System Security Plan (SSP) and any Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M). We will complete our Information System Contingency Plan and conduct a Disaster Recovery exercise to validate high availability and data recovery capabilities. By August, we are aiming to compile and submit all compliance evidence for initial review. We then expect to finalize all evidence amendments and collaborate with Palantir to ensure our readiness for the final audit stage.
  • Audit (September-November) – By September, Hyperscience plans to submit all evidence demonstrating compliance with FedRAMP High controls to the Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO). The audit is expected to commence in mid-September and continue through October. The process is anticipated to conclude successfully in November, marking Hyperscience’s inclusion in the FedRAMP marketplace under the PFCS-SS High package.
